Under the GPL, you are welcome to keep proprietary work "closed source" for your own organization's use, but you may not redistribute the software to your clients for commercial purposes without having first contributed your code back to the Asterisk community. Digium, Inc. is the copyright holder of Asterisk, and only Digium has the right to grant Asterisk licenses. The fees paid for custom Asterisk development that BTWTech performs does not come with or provide for any licensing arrangement through Digium, Inc.
